Ashley has always been drawn to the vibrant, creative energy of individuals with ADHD. Married to a spouse with ADHD, raising a child diagnosed with ADHD, and educating students who share the same dynamic, Ashley has embraced this journey wholeheartedly. Many of Ashley’s closest friends have ADHD, which has deepened her appreciation for their unique perspectives and boundless energy. This lived experience has inspired Ashley to develop engaging teaching strategies and executive functioning practices tailored to setting her family and students up for success. Moreover, her family has discovered that ADHD counseling can be transformative, helping them thrive together in a supportive and understanding environment. She is a fierce believer in helping students achieve their best with their unique talents and strengths.
Ashley is married and has two children, creating a lively and active household. As a family, they love spending time together exploring nature, swimming, crafting, and playing music—activities that foster creativity and connection. Whether exploring a new park or working on a shared project, they find joy in staying active and nurturing their artistic sides. Ashley’s personal favorite pastime is concocting and implementing ways to play with dogs.
With a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from James Madison University, Ashley has dedicated her professional life to teaching and inspiring others. For nine years, she taught middle school chorus, a role that honed skills in classroom management and innovative lesson planning. As a private music instructor, Ashley gained valuable experience in individualized education, particularly in teaching piano to several children with amazing musical capabilities and severe ADHD. Her foray as a library assistant inspired her to create resources for a variety of learning styles. As a study skills coach and instructor, Ashley continues to bring compassion and expertise to her teaching, ensuring lessons are engaging and meaningful.
