Meet Dr. Gisone

Dr. Gisone is passionate about helping students and adults with ADHD build a plan for success while being compassionate to themselves. Dr. Gisone has worked with many students in high school, community college, and university settings.  She is a very empathetic, warm, and encouraging coach who believes in the power of connection. Dr. Gisone can also relate through her personal experience as an adult with ADHD and mother of two children, one of which has ADHD.


Dr. Gisone has lived with her family in Northern Virginia since 2012. She was born in Greece, grew up in New Jersey and has lived in Michigan and New York. When Dr. Gisone isn't running her home with her husband, she is chauffeuring her kids to sports and band activities, practicing her Spanish and Greek, visiting coffee shops with friends, dog sitting and watching movies. She likes to keep busy by also providing coaching to families of adult children with complex mental health needs. Other interests include a passion for teaching Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED skills, especially to youth.


Dr. Gisone graduated with a Doctorate and Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Michigan State University with a subspecialty in children and families. She completed her doctoral internship in cross-cultural psychology at a community mental health center in Brooklyn, NY. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Rutgers University. Dr. Gisone has training and experience providing therapy, individual and parent coaching plus psychological testing, curriculum development, undergraduate teaching and research.
