Meet Katy
Associate Executive Function Coach
Katy is passionate about working with individuals from the ADHD and neurodiverse community. Some of her drive comes from her own struggles growing up with ADHD. As a former K-12 teacher, Katy saw many of her students facing similar struggles. Within the school and culture at large, a lack of awareness and up-to-date information about ADHD and other neurodiverse conditions was pervasive. After watching even gifted students give up after being labeled as lazy or difficult due to circumstances beyond their control, Katy left teaching to focus on training as an ADHD coach. She is dedicated to helping her clients find their own best ways to succeed in a world geared toward neurotypical individuals.
Katy grew up in the DC area. She has a passion for music, theater, and the arts in general. She appreciates history, and when she isn’t coaching, she works as a trades interpreter at a local historic site. Katy is fond of the outdoors, walking, cycling, and kayaking with her husband. She especially loves spending time with her dog. Katy also enjoys many types of crafts, like sewing, painting, scrapbooking, needle felting, and spinning. She likes to spend downtime crafting and listening to her extensive audiobook collection.
Katy is a Certified ADHD Coach, and Life Coach. Both certifications are from The International ADHD Coach Training Center, which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She also holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance from the Catholic University of America.
